Rastriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS)

From his childhood, he was eager to participate in RSS shaka in his village.

Shashidhar worked actively as a volunteer during the Ram Janma Bhoomi movement canvassing on behalf of the Sangh, campaigning door to door, and conducting various activities while he was just 14 years old.

Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP)

Shashidhar was an active member of the ABVP right from his intermediate days. He attended his first ABVP Abhyasavarga which was held in 1993, at Sarada Dhamam.

He was appointed as a member of the ABVP City Working Committee in 1994.

He has taken the responsibility as ABVP’s “Vansthalipuram Bagh Pramukh” in 1995. From 1998 to 2004, Shashidhar discharged duties as ABVP Malakpet Zone’s Zonal In-Charge, member of the State Working Committee, State Joint Secretary and City Secretary of Hyderabad.

He served as a member of the ABVP National Executive Committee member from 2004 to 2006. He was also the state convener for the SEIL-Student Experience in Interstate Living.

Activities within ABVP

Shashidhar successfully ran a free coaching centre in Vanasthalipuram for the Polytechnic entrance test and conducted the Model EAMCET test to help students. He initiated and ran several campaigns such as Hostel Nidra Programme where he along with his team used to visit the hostel understand their issues, sleep in the hostel for a night and then carry out agitations demanding better facilities at SC, ST and BC hostels, and for welfare stipends for students.

He determinedly fought against the high fees charged by private education institutions and he was the pioneer of a state-wide movement with Dilshukhnagar as the hub against corporate colleges and their commercialization of education, and student suicides. As a result of this agitation, then Chief Minister Sri Chandra Babu Naidu had appointed Dr. Neerada Reddy Committee to conduct an enquiry on the issues.

He started an intense agitation to protest the ‘Common Fee’ practice for engineering courses as he believed that the socially and financially backward students would not be able to afford that fee and thereby would lose out on opportunities to pursue technical education.

He used to conduct induction programs welcoming fresh students to graduate and post-graduate courses, and also conduct college annual day celebrations with the slogan “Student Power- National Power”. He was the guiding light, showing the direction to many students on their paths of education and careers.

Shashidhar used to conduct the birthday celebrations of Rani Jhansi Lakshmi Bai on a large scale in order to kindle women power and design activities to help girl students acquire leadership qualities. He regularly conducted service camps and blood donation camps, especially to commemorate the birth and death anniversaries of national leaders and also he relentlessly ran movements and led protests to bring the issues prevalent in the education sector to the government’s notice to prompt action to resolve them.

He also started Sapling plantation programs to propagate greenery. He has taken a march to spread awareness on Water Resources and Management – Jala Yagnam.

He was the front runner in designing and conducting many activities to promote Nationalistic ideology and promote patriotism among students and oppose the Leftist ideology and thought process.

He fought against the Unconstitutional Muslim reservations bill introduced by Y.S. Rajashekhar Reddy’s government in erstwhile Andhra Pradesh.

He organized many events and meets at colleges protesting the violent ways of “Naxal and extremist movements.”

With an intention to protect college students from obscene, porn and the Western philosophies that mislead them, Shashidhar ran several campaigns on campus.

He conducted programs to increase awareness among students and inspire them on important National issues, National unity, and National security.

Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP)

Shashidhar was appointed as the Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s state Official Spokesperson at the Parishad’s regional conference held on 12^th July 2016 at Basara. He participated in various debates on behalf of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and made his mark. He saved many lives of cows that were illegally transported at state borders and Interstate. He became the Voice of Hindutva in uprising all the issues related to dharma.

He organizes a huge rally on Hanuman Jayanthi and on Sree Rama Navami every year.

He is currently working as Telangana State VHP Joint Secretary.

Telangana Statehood Movement

Shashidhar played a pivotal role in the Telangana movement for separate statehood. During the first phase of the Telangana Movement, he played an active role in organizing many programs at Arts College, Osmania University as the centre. He was lathi-charged multiple times by police during protest activities and was jailed many times during the Telangana separate statehood movement.

He was also a Member of the Telangana Udyama Committee which was headed by the Former Governor Of Maharashtra Ch. Vidyasagar Rao. This Committee was used to formulate and execute different campaigns for the Telangana Movement.

Jan 2010- At the time of the Telangana movement, ‘Ranabheri’ organised by ABVP was graced by Smt Sushma Swaraj ji as the chief guest.

He played a key role in the Telangana Movement and encouraged youth a lot.

Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsava Samithi (BGUS)

The Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsava Samithi was established in 1980 to facilitate the smooth conduct of the Ganesh festival in Bhagyanagar (Hyderabad). The Samithi, which was conceived and took form under the able leadership and guidance of Vandemataram Ram Chander Rao, was served by G. Pulla Reddy as its chairperson. Currently, the BGUS has G. Raghava Reddy at the helm, with Shashidhar serving as its Secretary.

Hyderabad is renowned worldwide for its Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. Over one lakh Ganesha idols are installed in every street and locality of the city. Over 50 lakh people from all over the state come to watch the Ganesh immersion procession.

Shashidhar’s role is significant in spreading the celebrations in Greater Hyderabad limits with the primary motto and message of ‘Swa Desham-Swa Dharmam-Swa Samskruthi’, Many cultural and musical programs are conducted at these venues to preserve our culture and instill patriotism and a sense of belonging among the youth.

He promotes Ganesh Chaturthi festivities and celebrations on school and college campuses and has been playing a significant role in the Bhagya Nagar Ganesh Utsava Committee since 2002.

Working in the BGUS involves working with many religious heads, seers, and prominent social leaders and personalities, in addition to veteran Sangh members. Shashidhar is adept in his seamless interactions with them, and in organizing the festivities meticulously, year after year.

He has also been carrying out responsibilities as the Secretary of the Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsava Samithi since 2008 to till date.

Anti-Terrorism Forum

He formed the Anti-Terrorism Forum against terrorism and extremism and organized many programs, especially to educate the student community and caution them against these philosophies. As a part of the ATF’s initiatives, Shashidhar organized a flag hoisting ceremony on 15th August in the year following the serial bomb blasts in Dilshuknagar, Hyderabad, at the very location of the blast and by those injured in it, to send a strong message that there shall be no compromise or cowardice in protecting and preserving national security and integrity.

He organized protests over the attacks on Kashmiri Pandits. He also organized protests and rallies condemning the attacks on Akshardham pilgrims and the terrorist attacks on Amarnath pilgrims. He carried out an instrumental part in the Al-Kabir movement.

Martyr’s Memorial Research Institution (MMRI)

Shashidhar rendered service as the treasurer of MMRI from 2008 to 2018. MMRI carries out research work primarily in areas of Rural Development and National Security. During his tenure at MMRI, Shashidhar has worked closely with prominent members of RSS, BJP, and other Nationalist Organizations at the Central level. He participated in a two-day workshop on extremism held in New Delhi, along with many State Ministers and National Security experts.

OTHER SOCIAL & NATIONALIST ACTIVITIES

When the KCR-led TRS government introduced a bill in the assembly to include Muslims in the list of BC for reservations, Shashidhar fought a legal battle against this inclusion in the high court and presented factual evidence to the BC commission, negating the basis of such inclusion.

Shashidhar was an organizer at the program conducted in Hyderabad, in the auspicious presence of RSS Sanghchalak Param Pujya Shri Mohan Bhagwat ji.
Shashidhar’s responsibilities as a member of the Tirumala Tirupathi Samrakshana Samithi. He organized a state-wide intense protest and agitation against the YSR government’s decision to shrink the TTD jurisdiction to two hills from seven hills. As a result of the agitation, the government released a G.O. repealing the earlier decision and reverting to the original jurisdiction of 7 Hills. He had played a key role in many movements undertaken to preserve and protect the sanctity of Tirupathi. Similarly, there was a movement protesting conversions to other religions and their propagation in the vicinity and premises of Hindu temples and consequently, the government released a G.O. prohibiting such activities in and around the Hindu temples. He led a state-wide agitation organized to oppose the decision to construct an Islamic university in Tirupati.
Prachar Pramukh of the Telangana State for Sri Rama Janma Bhoomi Mandir Nirman Nidhi Samarpan Abhiyaan, and also as the Incharge of Jagityal District and Convenor for Dilshuknagar Bagh where he has organized numerous programs to make this abhiyaan reach every Hindu Household.
Shashidhar leads the Sri Veera Hanuman Vijay Yatra that starts from Karmanghat, Hyderabad, on the occasion of Sri Hanuman Jayanthi every year.
Under the Shashidhar’s leadership, to mark the centenary year of Vandemataram, 2000 female students were taught the song Vandemataram, and they sang it in unison at a massive open-air meeting in Dlishuknagar where Shri Narayan Rao Pawar was the chief guest. He is a person who carried out a bomb attack on the Nizam.
Shashidhar also led movements protesting the trends in Telugu Cinema leading to the degrading depiction of Hindu Goddesses, Gods, and Traditions, especially in movies such as ‘Denikaina Ready’, ‘Vinayakudu’ and ‘Ippudu Kaka Inkeppudu’, and fought long & intense legal battles that went into the purview of the Supreme Court even, against such debasement of Hindi religion.
Led the protest movement condemning the attack on Bhagyalakshmi Temple by AIMIM activists. He also started a state-wide movement in protest of the degrading comments made by Akbaruddin Owaisi on the Hindu Religion. He organized a ‘Chalo Indira Park’ march, at the end of which the A.P state government arrested him and Sri Kamalananda Bharati Swamiji and sent him to jail.
Shashidhar organized many awareness programs to support the demonetization implemented by the Shri Narendra Modi ji government and to educate the general public on the advantages of demonetization.
He has appealed numerous times to the State and Central governments and also submitted many plans and project reports for the development of Rachakonda, and he was responsible for getting funding of INR 8 crores for developing it, from the then NDA-I government.
Shashidhar has been making efforts for several years to provide employment and livelihood opportunities to the people of Nalgonda, Ranga Reddy, and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri districts on a large scale.
Through Dhatrika Seva Samithi, Shashidhar has organized many service programs and events. During the first stage of the COVID-19 pandemic, Seva Samithi volunteers distributed face masks, Homeo medicines, and everyday essentials on war footing and large scale to multitudes of poor people free of cost. In its second stage, Samithi also added oxygen concentrators to the list of items to be given to the needy and poor.
Shashidhar proposes to inculcate nationalistic sentiments and perspective in people through discussions and debates on various issues and topics of national interest on the platform of the Right Thinkers Forum.
